DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

Responsibilities include:


·         Technical procedure writers conversant in using Microsoft Office programs. The writers will develop system operating manuals for the balance of facilities systems, low activity waste melter facility systems, and the laboratory building systems (does not include analytical procedures for the lab) for the Waste Treatment Plant (WTP). The types of systems could include fluid, mechanical handling, or electrical.
·         The writers should have a technical background in fluid systems, mechanical handling systems, or electrical distribution. The starting point for development will typically be draft procedures in Microsoft Word that will be required to be updated to Revision 0 and validated for operations. The writers will be required to interface with design and systems engineers, operations and maintenance personnel, as well as training personnel to ensure the procedures have incorporated the required elements and meet the required standards.
·         The writers will be assigned system procedures to develop and be required to meet deadlines for procedure development and approval.
·         Additionally, some procedure writers may be assigned to develop, or update, procedures associated with the document safety analysis implementation. A knowledge of Technical safety requirement implementation using surveillances is a plus.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
·         Must be a U.S. Citizen.
·         Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific discipline or quality assurance from an accredited university.
·         A minimum of 6 years’ experience in a field of engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations or quality assurance.

·         In lieu of a formal degree, a minimum of 12 years’ experience in a field of engineering, testing, or operations.
·         Upon reporting, must be able to clear a physical examination and drug screen to obtain a WTP badge.
·         Possess the legal right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
