DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Provide technical support to a Hanford Project, including ALARA Design Review, Technical Evaluations, Clearance Survey Plans & Sealed Source program. Coordinate and communicate the project ALARA goals and quarterly ALARA reports.

Provide programmatic support for implementation and to maintain compliance. Interact both within and outside of the Radiation Protection Organization and must effectively work with all other disciplines within the project.

Provide radiological expertise in order to maintain compliance with facility specific procedures, Radiological Control Manual, and 10CFR835 regulatory requirements.

Apply radiological design criteria and optimization methodology into standardized ALARA and radiological work planning, radiological engineering, and design input for multiple operations and maintenance activities.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Applicant must have experience in ALARA Design Review, Radiological Work Planning, Clearance Survey Plans, Sealed Source process, ALARA tracking/trending and Radiological Protection Programs on the Hanford Site.
  • Demonstrate experience with radiological instrumentation/analysis, dosimetry and proficient procedure writing.
  • BS degree in Science, Health Physics, or Engineering, including documented and verifiable training in Radiation Protection or an equivalent combination of education and related experience, plus 15 years’ direct job related experience in applied Health Physics or Radiological Engineering.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
