DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Candidate will be responsible for development and maintenance of the full suite of software lifecycle documentation for custom web applications, configurable solutions, and commercial off-the-shelf products. Candidate will manage all documentation for these applications, solutions, and associated project activities. Candidate will be working with Team Foundation Server to establish requirements and perform work item management. Tasks will include creation and completion of documentation workflows in SmartPlant Foundation. Candidate will create and maintain style guides, write and maintain software coding standards, and will manage software documentation projects. Candidate will lead efforts in support of Software Project Leads and other Software Technical Staff as needed (e.g. create design diagrams, develop process flows, write test suites, cases, and steps, etc.). Candidate may be asked to mentor less experienced writers.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum two (2) years of experience with Software Lifecycle Documentation.
 
Experience with editing, compilation, and implementation of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) documents for Software Project Teams, including management of related tasks.
 
Experience with creating and maintaining style guides, writing and maintaining software coding standards, and managing software lifecycle documentation projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Impeccable writing, spelling, and grammar skills, and Technical Communications, or related field.
  • 5 years of technical writing experience including proofing and editing.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in English or equivalent field experience.
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Visio, Excel and Outlook).
  • Knowledgeable of PDF editing products (e.g. Adobe Acrobat).
  • Experience working in a government environment using government standards, procedures, and documents.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
 
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate should demonstrate experience working with Software Engineering Teams, be familiar with the software development processes and paradigms, and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Software Quality Assurance process.
  • Hanford Tank Farm experience would be beneficial.
  • Proficient in working with all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficient in working with Adobe Acrobat.
  • Proficient in working with SmartPlant Foundation.
  • Proficient in working with SharePoint.
  • Proficient in working with Team Foundation Server.
  • Proficient in working with Microsoft Test Manager.
