DESCRIPTION OF WORK SPECIFIC:
Provide software engineering support to create, develop, operate and maintain software programs at the Hanford site. Application development also includes the assessment, maintenance, documentation, modernization, testing, and program implementation functions. Responsibilities may include the support of legacy systems and the creation of new systems. The Subcontractor shall provide enterprise application services by supplying an adequately and appropriately skilled IT professional.
 
Hanford Software Engineer Services (SES) requires a junior software engineer who will provide development and backup support for a variety of customized applications, as well as COTS products. Support will include .NET and Cold Fusion technology with databases developed in both Structured Query Language (SQL) Server and Oracle. Support also includes the operation and maintenance support for legacy SES systems and website applications.
 
The software engineer should be able to:
  • Troubleshoot software production issues.
  • Design databases.
  • Develop using .NET technology, as well as Cold Fusion.
  • Understand and follow basic established Software Development Process.
  • Develop technical documentation.
  • Demonstrate good written and communication skills.
 
The software engineer will work with other project software engineers, interface with the project managers, and meet with customer subject matter experts as needed.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or IT related field with 0-2 year’s software development experience.
  • 0-2 years’ development/programmer experience with .NET (C# and/or ASP.NET), ColdFusion, PHP or similar technology.
  • 0-2 years’ experience with ColdFusion Builder, Adobe Dreamweaver, Visual Studio or similar software.
  • 0-2 years’ experience with relational database design.
  • 0-2 years’ experience with Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Experience with Drupal.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Strong customer relationship skills.
  • Ability to work during non-standard business hours.
 
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1-3 years’ experience using .NET technology.
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server(TFS).
