DESCRIPTION OF WORK SPECIFIC:
Hanford/HAMMER requires an employee who is an SME in IHT Fundamentals curriculum subject areas to assist with curriculum development and provide instruction. The provided individual shall be a Certified Industrial Hygienist or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist who has prior experience performing work scope involving the support of IHTs. HAMMER instructor qualification requirements shall be met for those who will instruct.
 
IHT Fundamentals and Continuing training is to be completed by all IHTs employed at the Hanford Site. The HAMMER IHT training program will provide workers with a solid knowledge foundation through initial and continuing training on industrial hygiene fundamentals, and will prepare Hanford Site IHTs for contractor-specific instrumentation courses, On-The-Job Training, and final qualification.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
·         Bachelor’s degree and 5 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
·         Knowledgeable in industrial hygiene techniques, skills and technical processes.
·         Experience in adult education or training including curriculum development and/or presentation skills.
·         Ability to work well with diverse groups, individuals and teams.
·         Strong communication and collaboration skills including ability to present to senior management, committees and at workshops.
·         Collaboration skills to build and maintain programs working inclusively for health and safety training design, development and implementation.
·         Knowledge of Hanford Site projects and ability to interface with field management and workers.
 
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\
·         Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)
·         In-depth knowledge of industrial hygiene standards including: Academy of Industrial Hygiene; American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA); American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH); American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH).
·         In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations as well as NIOSH and ANSI standards.
·         Understanding of Tank Farm Vapor hazards, controls and actions taken at Hanford relating to vapor concerns.
·         Master’s degree in an industrial hygiene-related field of study.
